Kill Me Slow

Drawing of red eyes.

"I knew that it was cruel to be so optimistic, but, in my solitude, I couldn't resist the urge and spent entire days basking in idiotic fantasies, sometimes verging on prayer."
- Meiko Kawakami, Heaven

Hug me one last time before you go,
you cry, while inside I decompose.
You’ll do the yelling so
I can keep my composure
but only if I know
you’ll preplan foreclosure,
we’ll both understand
you have no choice but to come over.

Then kiss me one last time before you leave.
Remove all my walls,
but keep the heart on my sleeve.
Ditch your thong,
so I can keep it while I grieve.
I’ll cry all day long
beating myself for being a peeve.
