"Death is the end of life; ah, why
Should life all labour be?"
- The Lotus Eaters, Lord Tennyson

I have a love for what I do
like passion without the passion,
wearing it like fashion without the fashion,
not wearing the dress, but the dress is wearing me,
baggy eyes and less sleep,
don’t have a need to perfect the craft,
but for the craft to perfect me.
Sometimes you aren’t running down a path,
the path is running down you.
Sometimes you can’t afford to walk
down the turn with the daisies and the meadows,
all you can keep is the feeling of being
pretentious, ostentatious, but never vivacious,
when one day you’re up before sunrise,
the next far past sunset,
my heart is begging me to turn right,
but my life’s work is up ahead.
